The German Emigration Centre (Deutsches Auswandererhaus)

As an open research venue that seeks dialogue, the German Emigration Centre welcomes conferences and specialist symposia across all disciplines.
 
Arrival by train
Take the train to Bremerhaven Hauptbahnhof. From there, take the bus (lines 502, 504, 505, 506, 508, 509 or HL) to the “Havenwelten” stop (right next to the German Emigration Centre) or to “Bürgermeister-Smidt-Straße”. The journey takes approx. 7 minutes.
From Oldenburg, the Wesersprinter (line 440) runs several times a day via Brake and Nordenham to Bremerhaven. Stop: “Havenwelten”.
From Wilhelmshaven, there is a direct bus service (line 495) via Varel and Sande to Bremerhaven.


Arrival by car
Take the A 27 towards Bremerhaven/Cuxhaven, exit at “Bremerhaven-Zentrum”. Follow the B 212 (first Grimsbystraße, then Lloydstraße) towards Havenwelten. At the end of Lloydstraße, turn left into Columbusstraße – the German Emigration Centre is on the right-hand side.
